Do we have an obligation to beauty? If so, what is it? Isn’t that just another form of escapism to take our minds off of the crisis du jour? Being present to beauty – the beauty of a flower, the beauty of a child, the beauty of a loved one – is an antidote to despair. The poet and philosopher, John O’Donahue, wrote, “The human soul is hungry for beauty; we seek it everywhere – in landscape, music, art, clothes, furniture, gardening, companionship, love, religion and in ourselves…When we experience the Beautiful, there is a sense of homecoming.” Join us for a homecoming, and a conversation about the healing power of beauty.
